Until the recent surge in use of other brand like Zowie, Razer the king of gaming mice and is still one of the most recognized names in PC gaming hardware. Having used and enjoyed their products for a long time, I recently picked up a brand new Razer Death Adder Chroma to test out. I’ve put about 100 hours into CSGO while using the mouse and have put together my thoughts on this simple, comfortable, entry-level RGB mouse.

A beautiful, sleek-looking mouse from head to toe. From the smooth looking material, to its subtle curves, the Death Adder Chroma is simple put – a beautiful mouse.

The simple design of the Chroma isn’t just beautiful to look at, it’s extremely comfortable to grip and play with for short and long-term sessions. Being a large guy with large hands, some mice can be extremely hard to play with for extended periods of time. The Death Adder Chroma is not one of those mice. My palm and fingers comfortably fit where they were supposed to and the material it is made of is great quality. My hand never slid around or off of the mouse while playing. Overall, it is one of the most comfortable mice I have ever used.

The Chroma boasts that you can customize it’s lighting with over 16 million million choices. While it seems like a lot, the lighting is pretty simple. You can customize the scroll wheel and logo with any color of your choosing. It’s pretty easy to do, but nothing revolutionary.

Features-wise, you can customize the settings of the mouse using the Razer Synapse program. Through Synapse you’re able to adjust the dots-per-inch(DPI), polling rate(frequency with which the mouse communicates with the computer) and calibrate the mouse for the surface it is on. Most importantly, you can customize the 5 mouse buttons and lighting for different game profiles. So, when you load up Counter Strike it can have a different button layout than if you were to play Fortnite. The custom button profiles automatically load with the linked program so you don’t need to manually change it, which is a slight time saver.
